Eli Cooper
Laurens County, Georgia
August 22, 1919

Eli Cooper was dragged away from his home in Laurens County, Georgia by a group of 15 to 20 white Georgians for talking to neighbors about rebelling against white racial supremacy. He was taken to a church in Dodge County where he was shot, the church set on fire, and his body pitched into the flames.
