Nash Griffin

Nash Griffin, who lived in Ocheeshee, Florida, was accused of
writing an insulting note to a young woman. The woman showed the
note to some white men. The men found Mr. Griffin and gave him a hundred
lashes as punishment and ordered him to leave the county. When he didn't
leave the county, a group of forty masked men caught Griffin and shot him to death.
