Michael Donald Michael Donald, age 19 years was beaten, his throat slit three times and then hung from a tree on March 21, 1981 in Mobile, Alabama. He was a student and worked part time. He was killed by the KKK in retaliation against the black community. The KKK was angry about a court case, involving someone else, that resulted in a hung jury.
