Dick Robinson and a Man Named Thompson
Pritchard Station, Alabama
October 6, 1906
After a first failed attempt to lynch Dick Robinson resulted in
the death of Officer Roy Hole, the mob leaders decided to intercept a train
transporting the two to prevent more bloodshed. The accused men
were on a guarded railcar headed to Mobile when they were stripped from
the sheriff and deputy and hung from nearby trees. The men were
accused by the mob of assaulting a white woman.
