Henry Scott was a porter on the railway line. The train on which he was working made a swing though the South. Somewhere near Lakeland, Florida, a white passenger complained that Scott had insulted her. She informed the sheriff in Lakeland and Mr. Scott was arrested. Mr. Scott was seized by a mob and executed.
